Elastic

Building a discipline is one thing. Keeping it is another. More patience is needed to maintain that discipline, and even more determination is needed to build on it while being pushed.

I started off with reciting Rahman and Waqiyyah before sleeping. I got pushed so I added to it. I began reciting Rahman, Waqiyyah, and Mulk. I kept that up, untill I was pushed again.

Today will be the second day of building the new discipline of reciting:
- Fatihah (du'aa)
- Last two ayat of Baqarah (du'aa)
- Sajdah (Forgiveness)
- Rahman (Most beautified surah)
- Waqiyyah (Protection from poverty)
- Mulk (Death in sleep = Shahada)

Objective: Keep up this discipline for entire month of April, then add Surah Yaseen

How far are you willing to be pushed untill you let the discipline of ibadah break?

... .. ...... .. ...... .. ...

Movie Idea 3x10 - Day 02
  1. A child struggles with the existance of jinn disturbing her home
  2. New converty struggling to distinguish between the culture of Muslims and the Deen of Islam.
  3. A young man's struggle to get married with pressures of the west around him.

Don't forget ayat-ul-kursi..."When you go to your bed, recite Ayat-al-kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn."(Bukhari)

Ayatul Kursi...Jazakallhu Khaiurn

THE VIRTUE OF SURAT TABARAK

The Messenger of Allah ! said: "Verily a Surah in the Qur'aan, (which contains) thirty verses, intercedes for its possessor until he is forgiven, and it (i.e. the Surah) is, `Exalted be He in Whose Hand is the dominion? '"
(Reported by Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi, and others. The Hadlth is Sahih)

As for it causing a person to be shaheed...I'll need to do some more research. I believe I had read the hadith somewhere...

---------------------------

Do I know about a child being disturbed by jinn? No. It be fun to make a movie about it though :)

I think the benefits of reciting Surah alMulk every night before going to sleep (as hinted in the hadith posted above) is that it protects one from the punishment of the grave.

and Allah [SWT] knows best.

"The Prophet never used to sleep until he had recited Surah Sajdah and Surah Mulk"

[Al Bukhari and Muslim]

"Whoever recites the last two ayah of Surah Al Baqarah at night, those two verses shall be sufficient for him." (1)

ie. protect him from all that can cause him harm

[Muslim]

InshaAllah it is befitting to stick to the Sunnah, so I would make the recitation of the above routine, [all other surahs or recitations that are preferred being additional 'ibadah].

As for the jinn idea, I would stay as far away from it as possible. And Allah Knows Best.

Wa Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu.

jazakallahu khairun for the hadith references.

Why would you keep away from the jinn idea?
