Leader's Diamond

If you were to see one of these babies sitting around...how long would you let it rest?

Through the Quran Allah (swt) give us one of these diamonds. A believer is a leader. How is a leader to act? How is a leader to conduct oneself?

The following is the leader's diamond for anyone who wishes success upon themself, wants to increase the influence they have, and grow as a leader in their own right.

So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting for:
  1. Those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.
  2. Those who shun the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish*
  3. When they are angry, they forgive.
  4. Those who answer the Call of their Lord, and perform the prayer
  5. Who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation
  6. Who spend of what We have bestowed on them.
  7. Those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, take revenge.
- Surah Shurah: 36-39

How do you do #1? Having patience in letting the pleasures of the world pass and fulfilling the rights that The Creator has upon you.

How do you do #2? Keep away all types of disobedience, opressions, and transgressions whether they be commited openly or in secret.

How do you do #3? Don't take things personally. Don't let vengence for yourself be your nature.

How do you do #4? Establish the prayer. Pray five times a day, every day, one time, every time.

How do you do #5? Seek council of other people. Share ideas in things that concern people other than yourself.

How do you do #6? The rich man gives. Be the rich man. Take care of and be kind to those around you.

How do you do #7? If injustice or opression is commited on you, and you have the full capability and authority to take revenge, perfer to forgive. (Salahudeen style)

Allah (swt) is the MOST forgiving.

Fawahish...for those of you who dont know...

...applies to all those acts whose abominable character is self-evident.

In the Quran
-all extra-marital sexual relationships
-sodomy
-nudity
- false accusation of unchastity
- taking as one's wife a woman who had been married to one's father

These are all specifically reckoned as shameful deeds.

In Hadith,
- theft
-taking intoxicating drinks
- begging

these have been characterized as fawahish as have many other brazenly evil and indecent acts.

Basically includes all types of
- disobedience
- opressions
- transgressions

whether they be commited openly or in secret.

Ibn Kathir explain #7:

(And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, take revenge.) ameans, they have the strength to take revenge on those who commit aggressive wrong and hostile acts against them. They are not incapable of doing so and they are not helpless; they are able to take revenge against those who transgress against them, even though when they have the power to take revenge, they prefer to forgive, as when Yusuf, peace be upon him, said to his brothers:

(No reproach on you this day; may Allah forgive you) (Yusuf:92). even though he was in a position to take revenge on them for what they had done to him. The Messenger of Allah forgave the eighty people who intended to do him harm during the year of Al-Hudaybiyah, camping by the mountain of At-Tan`im. When he overpowered them, he set them free, even though he was in a position to take revenge on them. He also forgave Ghawrath bin Al-Harith who wanted to kill him and unsheathed his sword while he was sleeping. The Prophet woke up to find him pointing the sword at him. He reproached him angrily and the sword dropped. Then the Messenger of Allah picked up the sword and called his Companions He told them what had happened, and he forgave the man.
