raisins give you energy. 15 im pretty sure give you energy for half a day. theres a hadith about it ... hmm i gotta find it.

to be honest, my aunt (Allah yarhamha) gave me this tip before she passed: she used to eat all the foods mentioned in the Qur'aan, such as figs, olives, pommegranate, dates, etc. ever since, its really helped me stay focused, especially during exam time.

wallahu alim

Fruit smoothies every morning with a sandwich on wheat bread.
a banana and/or orange with my lunch--either pasta or rice and a nice V8 splash drink.
and eat everything mentioned in the Qur'an and ahadith like Melody said.
Haven't heard of the hadith Mel, post it when you find it inshaAllah.

Tajweed should be taught for free. Some of my suggestions:

1.) Sell candy
2.) Give haircuts for $5
3.) Thats it for now

Chocolate is bad for you, especially if you eat it once every two days. What a huge, neon, flashy, no-no! Information to support such a statement to come soon in sha'a Allaah.

Dates

Volume 2, Book 15, Number 73:
Narrated Anas bin Malik,:

Allah's Apostle never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of 'Id-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. Anas also narrated: The Prophet used to eat odd number of dates.

here are some ahadith from Bukhari:

Narrated 'Aisha ra:
The Prophet -salAllahu alayhi wa sallam- died when we had satisfied our hunger with the two black things, i.e. dates and water.

Narrated 'Aisha ra:
Allah's Apostle -salAllahu alayhi wa sallam- used to love sweet edible things and honey.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Ja'far bin Abi Talib ra:
I saw Allah's Apostle -salAllahu alayhi wa sallam- eating fresh dates with snake cucumber.

(there are more, inshaAllah I will post later--foods include cucumbers, watermelon, honey and some other ones)

and ayat:

It is He Who sends down water (rain) from the sky, and with it We bring forth vegetation of all kinds, and out of it We bring forth green stalks, from which We bring forth thick clustered grain. And out of the datepalm and its spathe come forth clusters of dates hanging low and near, and gardens of grapes, olives and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety and taste). Look at their fruits when they begin to bear, and the ripeness thereof. Verily! In these things there are signs for people who believe. surah al-An'am, 99

With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought. Surah an-Nahl, 11

And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein. Surah YaSeen, 34

--if he is going to give haircuts, he has to be trained. it's not as easy as it looks.

selling candy is a good idea, get your younger siblings in on it and they can sell it as their school.

candy like lollipops works, especially carousel lollipops (with cool flavors like cotton candy, and strawberry shortcake). ive seen people on campus selling hershey chocolate for $1 each. how about babysitting? that's fun especially if you like children :)

*honey*
remember the story sh. yaser related to us about Zainab (RA) and how the Prophet loved honey and then because A'aisha (RA) was jealous she tried to get the other wives of the Prophet alayhis salaam, against Zainab by saying that the Prophet smelled. (Of course the Prophet never liked smelling foul so he refused to eat any more honey and then Umm Salamah felt that they were deceiving the Prophet and keeping him from something he likes, but A'aisha made her keep quiet)

It is He Who sendeth down rain from the skies: with it We produce vegetation of all kinds: from some We produce green (crops), out of which We produce grain, heaped up (at harvest); out of the date-palm and its sheaths (or spathes) (come) clusters of dates hanging low and near: and (then there are) gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety): when they begin to bear fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the ripeness thereof. Behold! in these things there are signs for people who believe.
